Description
On May 8, 1982 a passerby discovered human skeletal remains about 60 feet off Petra Road in the Town of Caledonia, Columbia County, Wisconsin. An anthropologist in 1982 determined that the remains were of a female about 5 feet 6 inches tall, between 45 and 60 years old, and had likely given birth. It is very probable she was Caucasian. There were signs the woman had arthritis and may have walked with a slight gate. A multicolored blouse and brown pants were found with the body. Investigators speculate the victim was killed elsewhere and dumped at the site. She died of blunt-force trauma to the head, and the case is being handled as a homicide.
